Early in 2025 I purchased a Kodak Ektar H35 half-frame film camera in hopes of diving back into my love of film photography. For months I’d been shooting on disposables or my mom’s very old, rickety Sears KS 1000, and knew I wanted an upgrade. At $35 I was sold on the Ektar.

The following are some of my first attempts at shooting film diptychs. The half-frame camera has challenged my perception by taking a full-frame image and halving it, allowing for unique compositions that provide more of a storyline to my candid imagery.
